The League of Legends European Championship (LEC) eSports broadcast was part of a full scale rebranding for Riot Games Europe, ambitious and focused on asserting a new identity for the Championship.

As the Lead Motion Graphics Designer on the project, I led the creation of all motion collateral, incorporating branded motion assets, the broadcast package, and animations to launch the 2019 season.

Key features of this work were the logo animations, pattern animations (used primarily for screen transitions), and approximately 100 unique screen and transition animations, enabling the LEC team with a vast array of options for the broadcast.

For the inaugural LEC season in 2019, I made the motion graphic design the following collateral (and impact):

Broadcast animations – 35,000,000+ View total across multiple platforms (V TOT), 200,000+ Average Concurrent Viewership (AVE CCV)
Opening Sequence Film – 35,000,000+ V TOT., 200,000+ AVE CCV
Film – It’s Time – 415,000+ V TOT.
Hype Film – 440,000+ V TOT.
Rotterdam ticket sting – 200,000+ AVE CCV
Ahoy stadium animation – Sold-out stadium
2019 showed a growth of 45.4% against 2018 viewership numbers at season finals.
